James R. Chastain, III Selected for Leadership Lakeland XXIX Class

Jay Chastain, Project Manager at Chastain-Skillman, Inc., has been selected for the Leadership Lakeland XXIX class for 2011-2012.

“Chastain-Skillman is very proud of Jay’s acceptance into Leadership Lakeland, said Jim Chastain, President of Chastain-Skillman, Inc.  “Leadership Lakeland will give him a greater understanding of the issues affecting Greater Lakeland and Polk County as well as provide him with the knowledge and skills necessary to make a positive impact on our community.”

"I feel honored to have been chosen for Leadership Lakeland," remarked Jay Chastain.  "It is a tremendous learning opportunity that will provide me with new perspectives, experiences and ideas that I plan to use in business and as a community volunteer.”

The Lakeland Chamber created Leadership Lakeland in 1983 to identify and develop future leaders in the community.  Leadership Lakeland is an annual program that brings together a diverse cross section of individuals, introducing them to local issues and resources within Polk County, while growing leadership skills and encouraging community service.  Only 30 members are chosen each year.
